During the first week of School, Madison Elementary had three community partners who gifted students with backpacks and school supplies: Citadel Services, Inc., Atria Senior Living in Irvine and Golden State Foods. Citadel Services, Inc., distributed backpacks to third grade classrooms. Madison was selected by one of the employees at Citadel, Inc., Perla Varela, who was a former Madison student wanted to give back to the school that provided a positive learning experience for her. The students were elated to open up their backpacks full of supplies. It was a great way to start the school year ready to learn. Residents at Atria Senior Living provided backpacks and a variety of school supplies to students at various grade levels and to families in need. Residents and staff at Atria Senior Living in Irvine worked together to collect both school supplies and backpacks. Lastly, Golden State Foods provided backpacks to over 200 Madison students. The backpacks were filled with school supplies including markers, pencils boxes, notebooks, gluesticks, scissors, erasers, etc. The students were overjoyed as they received their backpacks and walked with scholarly pride throughout the campus. |
