There's a New School in Town!

Let's Rock!

“Mommy! Sister won’t stop singing!!”

“Don’t worry sweetheart, I’m on it!”

Well, I did take care of it, in a way. I signed my kids up at the new School of Rock in Santa Ana. Follow my thinking, if you will. My daughter is going to sing, whether her brother likes it or not. We all love music, so why not give her some guidance so she can hone her craft. Enter School of Rock Santa Ana, the answer to my prayers. I signed my daughter, Collette (age 12), up for a Vocal Class Trial with Miss Renee and my son, Nick, for a Keyboard Trial Lesson with Mr. Jesse.

I’ve never seen my kids so excited for a music class before.

Both Miss Renee and Mr. Jesse were professional and did a great job engaging my kids. They were friendly and clearly an expert in their field. Miss Renee started assessing Collette right away and allowed her to choose a few songs to sing. From there Miss Renee was able to identify my daughter’s vocal challenges and offered her pointers and tips. Mr. Jesse, I have to say, had a bigger challenge. Nick is 9 years old and in fourth grade. It’s like catching a cloud and pinning it down. Mr. Jesse did a great job keeping his attention and was able to get my son to see the keyboard as more than just boring piano lessons.

All in all, my kids enjoyed it and now they want to be rock stars. When my son hears my daughter sing now, he asks me, “oh, is she practicing for School of Rock?” I love it!
