The Kids Will Be Alright

Reflections on the Macaroni Kid Santa Ana Children's Business Fair

By Annie Young, Publisher for Macaroni Kid Santa Ana and Macaroni Kid Newport Beach-Costa Mesa-Corona del Mar March 7, 2022

On Sunday, February 27, 2022, Macaroni Kid Santa Ana held our first Children's Business Fair at the Heritage Museum of Orange County. What started as a fun way for kids to learn about starting a business turned into a day of shopping bliss. Not only was the weather great, these kidpreneurs sold items they created such as jewelry, soaps, desserts, and even boba.

The young entrepreneurs who participated in this event seriously impressed everyone who dropped by, including the judges for the business competition.

The winners of the business competition include:

Greyson's Clean Sudz

Kalden's Book Club

NiCo's Workshop

Isla's Rubber Band Creations

NatureSparks

JSCreate

Jewelaband

Pom Pom Palace

Enchanted Garden

Sara's Photos & More

Each winner received a certificate and a $50 cash prize.

But honestly, they were ALL winners. They were able to follow their dreams, create a product, and sell their product. For most of them, the hardest part was talking to customers. But they persevered and did it. Some of them even sold out of their product. It was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
